The Velvet Thorn gothic crown, reactive in UV lights

The Velvet Thorn crown is a gorgeous hand made piece painted with an ombre effect in soft shades of darker and lighter silver. This piece is layered to create dimension, and heavily adorned with high quality glass crystals in shades of red and gun metal and blood drenched metal spikes alongside a multitude of shimmering Swarovski rhinestones. The roses are painted red and then splashed with UV-reactive paint.

Metal, paint, UV-reactive paint, high quality glass crystals, repurposed jewelry findings, Swarovski rhinestones, plastic, metallic lace fabric, plastic headband base.

Lightweight, comfortable.

Fastens with a headband. Can be further attached with bobby pins for extra security. 

Sustainability footprint: 15% repurposed materials (the fabric and some of the crystals and metal adornments)

Advise: It is always a good idea when wearing a larger headpiece to not have newly washed hair. It also gets a much better grip if you use saltwater spray or other styling products. Bobby pins can be used as extra security, and a trick to make the comb stick extra well is to do one or two super tiny pony tails with small elastic rubber bands into which the comb is fastened. Secure with extra bobby pins. 

This piece is quite light weight, but due to its size I strongly recommend you to practice wearing it before your event. Practice taking it off and putting it on, get familiar with how it feels on your head and especially practice walking through doors (so you don't smash it into the edge). It is a bit like walking in heels, posture is everything.
