This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, share and protect personal information when you visit vivekagren.com, make a purchase, contact me or subscribe to my newsletter.

I, Viveka Gren, am responsible for the processing of personal data described in this policy.

1. Information I collect

The personal information I collect depends on how you interact with my website and services.

When you visit the website

When you visit vivekagren.com, certain technical information may be collected automatically. This may include your IP address, browser and device information, cookie information and information about how you interact with the website.

My website and webshop are hosted by Shopify. Shopify collects and processes personal information when you visit or make a purchase from my store in order to provide and improve its services.

Because Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled for my store, Shopify may also process information from your interactions with my store, with Shopify and with other merchants in order to provide enhanced services. These services may include security and fraud prevention, analytics, personalization, service improvement and advertising-related functionality.

When you make a purchase

When you place an order, I collect information necessary to process and fulfil your purchase. This may include:

  • name

  • email address

  • telephone number

  • billing and delivery address

  • order and transaction information

  • information necessary for payment and delivery

I use this information to process and fulfil your order, communicate with you about your purchase, provide customer service, handle returns or other enquiries, prevent fraud and comply with accounting, tax and other legal obligations.

The legal basis for processing information necessary to fulfil your order is performance of a contract. Information that must be retained under accounting, tax or other applicable legislation is processed on the basis of a legal obligation.

Payment information is processed through Shopify and the relevant payment provider. I do not independently store your complete payment card details.

2. Newsletter and email marketing

If you subscribe to my newsletter, I use your email address to send occasional news from my studio, including information about exhibitions, new work and invitations.

The legal basis for this processing is your consent.

I use MailerLite to manage newsletter subscriptions and send emails. MailerLite processes subscriber information on my behalf. This may include your email address, subscription status and information associated with newsletter delivery and interaction.

You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter or by contacting me.

Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before your consent was withdrawn.

Your newsletter information is retained while you remain subscribed. Limited information may be retained afterwards where necessary to document your consent or ensure that an unsubscribe request continues to be respected.

3. When you contact me

If you contact me by email, through the website or through another communication channel, I may process your name, contact details and any other information you choose to provide.

I use this information to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to take steps requested by you before entering into an agreement or to manage an existing customer or business relationship.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

The website uses cookies and similar technologies.

Some cookies and technologies are necessary for the website and webshop to function. Others may be used for analytics, personalization, social media functionality, advertising or measurement.

Where consent is required, non-essential cookies and similar technologies are used only according to the privacy choices you make through the website's cookie and privacy settings.

The website is connected, or may be connected where enabled, to services provided by platforms including Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google and YouTube, Pinterest and TikTok.

When such services are enabled, their providers may process information about your device, browser and interaction with the website and may use cookies, pixels or similar technologies.

Where consent is required, non-essential tracking technologies are activated only according to your privacy choices.

The services and technologies actively used may change over time. The website's privacy and cookie controls are intended to reflect the technologies currently enabled.

6. Shopify and Shopify Network Intelligence

My webshop is operated using Shopify.

Shopify processes personal information in connection with hosting, orders, payments, security, customer services and other functionality necessary to operate the store.

With Shopify Network Intelligence enabled, information about interactions with my store may be shared with and processed by Shopify in combination with information from interactions with Shopify and other merchants in order to provide enhanced services.

These services may include functions relating to security, fraud prevention, analytics, personalization, service improvement and advertising.

Shopify and other service providers involved in these services may be located in countries other than your own.

Where consent is required in the EEA, UK or Switzerland for advertising or other non-essential uses, Shopify uses the consent choices communicated through the store's privacy controls.

7. Service providers

I use third-party service providers where necessary to operate the website and webshop, fulfil orders, communicate with customers and subscribers and provide related services.

These include, where applicable:

  • Shopify – website hosting, webshop functionality, customer and order management, payments and related e-commerce services.

  • MailerLite – newsletter subscriptions, subscriber management and email delivery.

  • Payment providers – payment processing and fraud prevention.

  • Delivery and logistics providers – fulfilment and delivery of orders.

  • Social media, analytics and advertising platforms – where their services are enabled as described above.

I share personal information only where necessary to provide a requested service, fulfil an order, operate and secure the website, comply with legal obligations or protect legitimate legal rights.

8. International transfers

Some service providers may process personal information outside Sweden or the European Economic Area (EEA).

Where personal information is transferred outside the EEA and the destination does not benefit from an adequacy decision by the European Commission, appropriate safeguards are used where required by applicable data protection law. These may include the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another legally recognised transfer mechanism.

9. How long I keep your information

I keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected or for as long as required by law.

Order, transaction and accounting information may need to be retained for the periods required under Swedish accounting, tax and other applicable legislation.

Newsletter information is generally retained while you remain subscribed. Limited information may be retained afterwards where necessary to document consent or ensure that an unsubscribe request is respected.

Correspondence and other information are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant enquiry, transaction or business relationship.

10. Legal bases for processing

Depending on the circumstances, I process personal information on one or more of the following legal bases under the GDPR:

  • Consent – for example, when you subscribe to my newsletter or consent to non-essential cookies or technologies.

  • Performance of a contract – for example, when processing is necessary to fulfil your order.

  • Legal obligation – where information must be processed or retained to comply with applicable law.

  • Legitimate interests – where processing is reasonably necessary to operate, secure or improve my business and services, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time.

Under the GDPR, depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information I hold about you

  • have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected

  • request deletion of your personal information

  • request restriction of processing

  • object to certain processing

  • receive certain personal information in a portable format

  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Sweden, the supervisory authority is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

12. Children's privacy

My website and services are not specifically directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing purposes.

När du gör ett köp

När du gör en beställning samlar jag in de uppgifter som behövs för att hantera och leverera ditt köp. Det kan bland annat vara:

  • namn

  • e-postadress

  • telefonnummer

  • fakturerings- och leveransadress

  • order- och transaktionsinformation

  • information som behövs för betalning och leverans

Jag använder uppgifterna för att hantera och leverera din beställning, kommunicera med dig om köpet, ge kundservice, hantera returer och andra frågor, förebygga bedrägerier samt uppfylla krav enligt bokförings-, skatte- och annan lagstiftning.

Den rättsliga grunden för behandling som är nödvändig för att genomföra ditt köp är fullgörande av avtal. Uppgifter som måste sparas enligt exempelvis bokförings- eller skattelagstiftning behandlas för att uppfylla en rättslig förpliktelse.

Betalningsinformation behandlas genom Shopify och den aktuella betaltjänstleverantören. Jag lagrar inte själv dina fullständiga betalkortsuppgifter.

2. Nyhetsbrev och e-postmarknadsföring

Om du prenumererar på mitt nyhetsbrev använder jag din e-postadress för att skicka nyheter från min studio, exempelvis information om utställningar, nya verk och inbjudningar.

Den rättsliga grunden för denna behandling är ditt samtycke.

Jag använder MailerLite för att administrera prenumerationer och skicka nyhetsbrev. MailerLite behandlar prenumerantuppgifter för min räkning. Det kan bland annat omfatta e-postadress, prenumerationsstatus samt information som hör samman med leverans och interaktion med nyhetsbreven.

Du kan när som helst avsluta din prenumeration via avregistreringslänken som finns i varje nyhetsbrev eller genom att kontakta mig.

Att återkalla ditt samtycke påverkar inte lagligheten av behandling som skett innan samtycket återkallades.

Uppgifter om din nyhetsbrevsprenumeration sparas så länge du är prenumerant. Begränsade uppgifter kan därefter sparas när det är nödvändigt för att dokumentera samtycket eller säkerställa att en avregistrering fortsätter att respekteras.

3. När du kontaktar mig

Min webbshop drivs genom Shopify.

Shopify behandlar personuppgifter i samband med bland annat hosting, beställningar, betalningar, säkerhet, kundtjänst och andra funktioner som krävs för att driva butiken.

När Shopify Network Intelligence är aktiverat kan information om interaktioner med min butik behandlas av Shopify tillsammans med information från interaktioner med Shopify och andra handlare för att tillhandahålla utökade tjänster.

Dessa tjänster kan bland annat avse säkerhet, bedrägeribekämpning, analys, personalisering, förbättring av tjänster och annonsering.

Shopify och andra tjänsteleverantörer som medverkar i dessa tjänster kan finnas i andra länder än ditt eget.

När samtycke krävs inom EES, Storbritannien eller Schweiz för annonsering eller annan icke-nödvändig användning använder Shopify de samtyckesval som kommuniceras genom butikens integritetsinställningar.

7. Tjänsteleverantörer

Jag använder externa tjänsteleverantörer när det behövs för att driva webbplatsen och webbshoppen, hantera beställningar samt kommunicera med kunder och prenumeranter.

  • Plattformar för sociala medier, analys och annonsering – när sådana tjänster är aktiverade enligt beskrivningen ovan.

Jag delar personuppgifter endast när det är nödvändigt för att tillhandahålla en efterfrågad tjänst, genomföra en beställning, driva och skydda webbplatsen, uppfylla rättsliga skyldigheter eller skydda legitima rättsliga intressen.

8. Överföring av personuppgifter till andra länder

Vissa tjänsteleverantörer kan behandla personuppgifter utanför Sverige eller Europeiska ekonomiska samarbetsområdet (EES).

När personuppgifter överförs utanför EES till ett land som inte omfattas av ett beslut från Europeiska kommissionen om adekvat skyddsnivå används lämpliga skyddsåtgärder när detta krävs enligt tillämplig dataskyddslagstiftning. Det kan exempelvis vara Europeiska kommissionens standardavtalsklausuler eller en annan rättsligt erkänd överföringsmekanism.

9. Hur länge uppgifterna sparas

Jag sparar personuppgifter endast så länge som det är nödvändigt för det ändamål de samlades in för eller så länge som lagen kräver.

Order-, transaktions- och bokföringsuppgifter kan behöva sparas under de tidsperioder som följer av svensk bokförings-, skatte- och annan tillämplig lagstiftning.

Uppgifter om nyhetsbrevsprenumerationer sparas normalt så länge du är prenumerant. Begränsade uppgifter kan därefter sparas när det behövs för att dokumentera samtycke eller säkerställa att en avregistrering respekteras.

Korrespondens och annan information sparas endast så länge som det rimligen behövs för den aktuella förfrågan, transaktionen eller affärsrelationen.

10. Rättsliga grunder för behandlingen

Beroende på situationen behandlar jag personuppgifter med stöd av en eller flera av följande rättsliga grunder enligt GDPR:

  • Samtycke – exempelvis när du prenumererar på mitt nyhetsbrev eller samtycker till icke-nödvändiga cookies eller tekniker.

  • Fullgörande av avtal – exempelvis när behandlingen behövs för att genomföra och leverera din beställning.

  • Rättslig förpliktelse – när uppgifter måste behandlas eller sparas enligt lag.

  • Berättigat intresse – när behandlingen rimligen behövs för att driva, skydda eller förbättra min verksamhet och mina tjänster och dina rättigheter och intressen inte väger tyngre.

När behandlingen grundas på samtycke kan du när som helst återkalla samtycket.

11. Dina rättigheter

Enligt GDPR kan du, beroende på omständigheterna, ha rätt att:

  • få tillgång till de personuppgifter jag behandlar om dig

  • få felaktiga eller ofullständiga uppgifter rättade

  • begära att dina personuppgifter raderas

  • begära att behandlingen begränsas

  • invända mot viss behandling

  • få ut vissa personuppgifter i ett portabelt format

  • när som helst återkalla ett samtycke när behandlingen grundas på samtycke
